FLRM Spouse extension Category F - Financial Requirement Proof

Post by saima28 » Sun Apr 01, 2018 10:23 pm

I am extremely petrified after reading and seeing FLRM Spouse visa extension Category F refusals. I would greatly appreciate if someone could shed some light on my questions.
  • My sponsor has yearly bank statements total 3 pages only to cover entire period of last two years. Is this acceptable proof for satisfying financial and/or cohabitation requirements OR Home Office is more accustomed to seeing monthly statements (One every month 12 statements in one year) and hence we will probably find ourselves in trouble for sending 3 pages covering two year period?
  • Can we use same bank statements to meet financial and cohabitation requirements?
  • How many different sources should we have for meeting cohabitation requirement? At the moment we have joint Energy Bill, joint Water Bill, joint Council Tax. Bills are quarterly but Council Tax is just one letter every year so a total of 2 council tax letters we have
  • Is this true that we should send only last two years proof of cohabitation OR since the spouse entered the UK?

Cohabitation documents should be 2 years prior to the date of application and bank statements must serve the purpose of finance & cohabitation. But generally speaking a 2 years bank statement with 3 pages only of an active account seems bit bizarre. Usually joint 6 or individually 12 piececs even with mix n match requires for cohabitation purposes.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thank you for a prompt response. The reason why its 3 pages is because the Bank has printed double sided. Is this an issue? Why do you think it is bizarre? I am scared that HO might also think it is bizarre. Its 3 pages but double sided covering 2 years period.

When you say joint 6 is this total number of documents or from 6 separate sources? When you say 12 is this from 12 different sources or total 12 documents? How many unique sources?

I don't think that anyone can answer that how many pages ideally should be. 6 or 12 piececs means from 6/12 different sources or providers or type.

We have Energy, Water, Council Tax bills Joint and Bank statement in our sole name from separate banks. Is this not going to be enough then because its only 4 different sources? Is this correct though 6 joint unique sources?

You can attach a lot other types of documents such as mobile phone bill, NHS letters, council letter, shopping vouchers/bills, marketing newsletters, tenancy agreement, letter from landlord, car insurance, car documents, car penalty notification, HMRC correspondence etc

Are credit card statements also acceptable as a cohabitation proof? I would greatly appreciate if you could point me to the guidance notes which explains list of acceptable documents to prove we are living together.
