BRP expiring soon

Post by Heena Sodhi » Fri Apr 06, 2018 3:24 pm

Hi Team,
My Biometric Residence Permit is expiring in July.
1. Could you please advise what the next step is?
2. Do I need to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain or BRP extension?
3. How long before can I apply? 3 months before?
4. What is the fees?
5. Can i apply online?

Thanks & Kind Regards,
Heena

Without any details of your immigration history and category, probably only a psychic can answer your questions.

My husband is a British Citizen and I am on a Spouse Visa here with a Biometric Residence Permit which started in November 2015 and valid until July 2018. BRP has work permit.
What other information do you need?

How can your BRP has work permit when you also saying to have spouse visa?? I guess you have spouse visa which allows work, isn't it??

You need to apply for a spouse visa extension on form FLR(M). You need to meet English A2 requirement and you must meet the financial income requirements again.

You also need to provide evidence of cohabitation for the last 2 years before application date.

You can apply by post or in person for a same day decision within 28 days before your visa expires.

What date did you ENTER the UK or did you switch to spouse visa within the UK??

Visa fees are :

£1,033 for postal application PLUS the £500 Immigration Health Surcharge.

For in person, same fees above plus £610 premium service centre fee.

It's the same thing, isn't it? I have a BRP because I am on spouse visa here.
I have a spouse visa that gives work permit, which is why my BRP mentions "Work Permitted" on it.

Hi, Thank you very much for your response.
It is very helpful.
I did not get spouse visa within the UK. I applied it from India and I entered UK on 24th November 2015.
