ILR based on 4+ years of marriage-UK immigration

I'm a British citizen but have been living outside the UK for over a decade, got married about 4 years ago and my wife is a Pakistani national and we are planning to move back to the UK by December 2018.

I went to citizens advise in Manchester in January and was told that I can apply for my wife's visa and she should be eligible to get indefinite leave to remain "ILR" on entry as we have been married for 4 years now but when doing my research on-line I have not seen any specific information on this, also I have read that this is no longer applicable.

The CAB are well out of date with their information. The '4 year' concession was removed way back in July 2012 and your wife will now be on a 5 year path to ILR (2.5 x 2.5 years).
