cover letter for application of indefinite to remain after 6 years of discretionary leave

hi all.

I have been in this country since 09/2002, my asylum was rejected then given DL IN 03/2012 TILL 03/2015, I apply for an extension and was given another 3 years which is going to expire on the 20/05/2018. I'm struggling to come up with cover letter, can someone help, please.

There is no standard cover letter. You just write to explain why you are applying (i.e. 6 years Discretionary Leave to Remain), giving dates if you have them and you attach letters granting you the first and second DL if you have them, you can always include reasons why you think you should be granted, this varies from person to person.

To be honest a cover letter is not really needed as everything required and all instructions are on the form FLR(DL) that is if you're using this form which is the right one.
