Refusal of visitor visa uk

Post by Nehalal » Thu Apr 12, 2018 1:16 pm

I applied for my mother and father in law visiting visa and it got rejected on the grounds that I didn't provide an evidence proving that their son is helping them financially as they are retired. I also attached the proof of property deed which they own jointly.
They are satisfied with my documents as i am settled in the UK.
Can you suggest me what other documents I can submit to reapply.

Visa needed for retired parents with no income

Post by Nehalal » Thu Apr 19, 2018 6:05 pm

Hi,
Experts,
I would like to have some suggestions about how to apply for the uk visitor visa for my parents. My father is retired and my mother is a housewife. They have their own property in India. But they have no regular income. My brother and sister who are in India support them on financially on regular basis. They have no savings as such. Whatever my brother and sister give them every month is used up for their living and only a little amount is carried forward in their bank account.
I have heard a lot of sad stories about visa refusal for parents who don't work. Can anyone suggest me a way to apply for the uk visitor visa for my parents. I am so desperate to call them once and make them feel special. My husband is a British citizen and he is willing to bear all the expenses for their travel and stay.
Thanks

Without documentary evidence of strong financial, social etc ties in home country, a visit visa will likely fail.

But what financial tie can I show in terms of income as they are supported by their children. Will their bank statement showing regular money coming from their children's account be enough along with children's bank statements and job details.

Sadly, unlikely to be sufficient. My mother-in-law's visitor visa was refused despite having €7,000 in her bank account and financial support from her 5 adult 'children' in her home country and proof of property ownership. She only applied for a 3 week visitor visa and her retired husband was also living in the home country.

Due to the tightening in the Immigration Rules in July 2012 for Adult Dependent relatives, it's become far more difficult for parents to obtain a visitor visa. Evidence of financial self-sufficiency is crucial.
