After divorce notification timeline

Hi
I have sent a letter to the UK home office informing them of my divorce on the 15th of April but I still have not received any acknowledgement letter from them regarding this. Is there a timeline to get the letter? Also, if I do not get the letter should I just count 60 days from the day I sent the letter and leave the country to avoid any immigration breach? What happens if I wait for the letter? I have read that some people have received the letter after a couple of months of notifying the home office. I have sent an email to the home office but they have a 20 days turnaround time to reply.
