Hi,
I was hoping someone here can clear this up for me as my endless internet searching is just taking me in circles. I have recently heard that the British Supreme Court has changed the rule on children born to British mothers before 1983 and was wondering if I now qualify for a British Passport without having to continue with my ancestral visa.
My mother was born in Rhodesia (a UK colony at the time) in January 1948. She has only ever held a full British passport and got this shortly after she was born. I was born in South Africa in March 1982. Both my mothers parents were born in the UK. As were my great grandparents etc etc
Am I eligible given the new law to apply for a British passport? Do I do this using the UKM form if so?
Not sure what other information you need to help me..
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
