Post by assadmah » Fri Mar 23, 2018 5:41 pm

Hi All,
It's been 6 weeks now and I am still waiting for my settlement (spouse) visa documents to come back. I was expecting them to have been sent back to me by now. Have other people also experienced this?

Below is my timeline:

Application Submitted Online: 2nd February 2018
Biometrics & Passport Submission (Location): Islamabad
Biometrics & Passport Submission (Date): 8th February 2018

They are usually sent back within a few days so you could give them a call.

Do you have a tracking number for you supporting documents?

Hi,
Thank you for replying.
My solicitor sent the documents and told me they haven't come back yet. I will probably wait one more week before contacting to find out. Mostly people get them back quick which is why I'm a bit worried. Solictior advised that it all depends and some people get the documents back when a decision is made.

Hi, we are in the same boat :|

Current timeline;
Location: Philippines (non-priority) spouse visa
Biometric: 19 Feb 2018
Documents sent to Sheffield 20 Feb 2018
Email confirmation received by ECO: 28 Feb 2018

I can see other timelines they have received it back within 15 days. Do you have any good news so far? Please let me know. Thanks!

Not sure what documents being referred to here.

Will the documents not be returned once a decision has been made? After that the visa would be put into the passport (or not, as the case may be).

Having said that, not sure how a visa is issued and attached to a passport if the docs are scanned and sent to Sheffield? For example, in a Priority Submission via VFSGlobal? In this scenario would Sheffield have the passport (if its scanned)? Maybe the visa comes in letter form?

The initial visa is a 30 day validity visa vignette in the passport.

Passport does not go to Sheffield by stay at the authorities in the country of application.

Supporting documents are what is being referred to in this topic.

Yes exactly as CR001 has said.
Once the authorities there get the go ahead from UKVI they add the visa to the passport.
The supporting documents bundle (tb test, english, pay slips, bank statements etc) sent after biometrics has not come back yet.

Interesting.

So this is the procedure in all applications or depends on where the application is made?

Curious...........

My documents were returned after 15days!

I had a telephone interview and so did my employer.

A month after this interview I was granted a visa!

Thanks

I still have not received my supporting documents back yet. This Friday makes it 2 months now since I sent them. Will keep waiting for another week before I contact HO. I don't know why they are holding on to them for so long.

Was a Return Courier label included in the docs sent? Unclear if this was a requirement on sending.

Yes solicitor said they did, so that the documents could be returned back to the solicitor's office.

Hi both! My fiance is applying from the Philippines too. We submitted and paid for his application today. The email said that he should bring his supporting documents to his biometric appointment, but that's not possible because I have the document bundle here with me, ready to be sent to Sheffield. Is this going to be a problem? What did you bring to your biometric appointment? Also, which address in Sheffield did you send the document too?

I will update you of my timeline as well. Many thanks!

Received a text that the processed visa application was received but NO CALL

Post by assadmah » Thu May 03, 2018 4:31 pm

Hi All,

Just a quick question about my wife's spouse visa application. We have reached our 12 week limit this week as biometrics was submitted on 8th February. My query is below:

My wife received a text message today which stated:
The processed visa application for GWF........ was received on 5/3/2018.
She received the message at 5pm pakistan time from the Islamabad visa center. However, she has not received a call at all.

Am I right to assume this is an initial automated text, that the application has been processed and then tomorrow morning she may get a call and another text to come and collect the passport. I checked the timings of the visa centre online and they close at 2pm so I doubt they would have called today since the text came so late. Anyone else had the same experience?
