I know a lot of people are concerned about their applications and rightly so, mine one is on Skill Shortage and even I haven't heard anything from my employer since my employer hasn't heard anything from the solicitors. This whole system is quite complex and baffling to be honest.
What's your salary and occupation, if you don't mind me asking?
I know we are in the same boat, I hope it will be okay in June/July. Does anyone can answer my quick question, what if HR advertised the job in 4th Dec 2017 then is it still available to apply for June ? Thanks !
I guess it is valid till 4-June
not sure if meeting on 11-June considers it valid or please ask ur sponsor to apply a fresh RLMT for safety
however 28 day ad, wont complete until mid of June (even if they apply tomorrow)
check with sponsor, I guess u cannot attempt in June (happy if I am proven wrong...i wish u apply in June)

Hi Everyone,

I have been following this forum for the past 5 months but this is the first month I posted, cos this the first month I really really felt that things will change. But looks like the backlog hasn't cleared yet. I found the below petition on twitter and it does have a relevant agenda. It has also been accepted. Please sign up and share.

Thanks for quick response. So I fit in only below description:
"Senior developer employed by a qualifying company, where the job requires a person with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience and demonstrable experience of having led a team. "

Is this separate clause?

I have more than 5 years of exp but My employer posted advertisement without specifying years of experience needed. Is that thing to worry about if employer applies on SO?

Thanks in advance!

Everyone all I can say is make your British friends or people living in Uk sign the petition, link is on page one of this chat..
it is really a grim situation that has been going on since December and even though May had a large number of rcos available (1975) the points have not dropped but in fact gone higher.
The ones who are waiting, it is most likely the Cos has been refused, all that is coming now are refusal email . Sorry but this is usually the trend from months.
The only way out of this is a policy change as there are a lot of new applications every month and even in June there are going to be plenty of new applicants which will further add to the numbers, if you really want this to work in your favour then I suggest to try and do something rather than just commenting here, it’s the only way out of this mess

There are 3 phases here:
1. UK part of EU
2. Pre-Brexit period
3. Post-Brexit period

Immigration policy is the same for almost 7 years and it worked well so far during phase 1. Perfectly OK. It's the second phase now, as the Brexit deadline is approaching. Due to this, several EU migrants either moving back to their countries or not considering working in the UK. So, the employers are now not able to fill up the positions and the only option is to look outside EU market, where the Cap is applied. With EU migrants, there is no cap and hence millions of EU nationals freely enter the UK and work here. Now, this can't be compared with 20k cap! At this 2nd phase, cap should have been increased at some extent to resolve this crisis.

A new immigration policy is must during 3rd phase, post Brexit, as at this stage EU nationals will have to apply for Tier 2 to work in the UK and that means the applications will be too high. Or may be a separate visa category or policy for EU nationals!

I assume Govt won't take any steps until March 2019, the Brexit deadline.

Hi guys,

I've been trying to get a visa since December 2017 with no luck. I am on 33 points non-shortage.

Unfortunately I do not think this issue will be solved this year, especially if no policy is changed. After the report was released by the Home Office by the Freedom of Information Act, outlining how many were rejected and approved each months based on each number of points, we did some calculating.

As I am on 33 points, I wanted to see how many people were waiting in front of me to be approved so I knew my chances. From that spreadsheet we added up the numbers rejected each month between 34 points and 46 points and these are the results:

Applications rejected between 34 and 46 points:
Dec - 616
Jan - 971
Feb - 1185
March - 1190
April - 1566

They have only increased, and considerably every month, and as there is no where near that number of certificates added on to any given month, there is absolutely zero chance of being approved. I don't want to upset people who are still holding out hope, as trust me I know the feeling and it is absolutely sickening (having experienced it for the past 6 months I would not wish it on my worst enemy). But for anyone in the 30s and lower, I hope the above results can provide some context and help you in working out your next move in life. Having your life on hold for so long is not an easy process and the extremely sad reality is that obtaining a working visa in the UK now seems near impossible unless you are being paid £55+ at the minimum.

Congratulations to everyone who has been approved, I hope you all realise how genuinely lucky you are.

I don’t know exactly but they listed the job as between 60-80k.

Is it really the case that the only ones coming through now are rejections?!?
