Hi everyone,
I am a bit puzzled by the translation requirements stated on the DFA website where it says that non-English documents need to be translated and certified by a provider registered with the Irish Translators and Interpreters Association (ITIA). The problem is that ITIA does not have registered translators that offer services in my language. I tried to enquire about that in a webchat with the DFA who themselves had no idea how to go about it. I tried to call them, but the lines were busy, so the answering machine suggested that I send them an email, which I did, but received no reply.
My consulate does not offer translation services, and after finding that out I was ready to despair until I read a few threads here where some posters indicated that such translations could be done by pretty much any decent looking translation agency. Could anyone who has submitted translated documents with their passport application (and had it approved) confirm that? I would also appreciate a link to the agencies you had used and a rough price guide.
Thanks!
