Switch from Tier1 Entrepreneur to Tier 2 while awaiting extension answer from home office

Hello dear members, zimba and moderators

this is my first time writing here, and I seek your advise for my case.
I searched my question in the forum but found different answers.

I have already applied for extension (on 10/5/2018, visa expiry was 15/5/2018) of my Tier1 entrepreneur visa last month,.
My passport is with home office now snd have not heared anything from them yet.

I recently got a job offer from a company whcih can sponsor me for a Tier 2 visa. I want to accept the offer.

my questions are:

1) I want to know if I can switch to Tier 2 general while waiting for answer of my extension under Tier 1 entrepreneur.

2) Am I still considered a Tier 1 applicant while awaiting the extension answer from home office ? can I still switch to Tier 2 general ?

1) Yes, you can vary your application to Tier 2
2) Yes.

It would have been good if you stated what the different answers were. Otherwise this is just a duplicate to the thread above.

I read that thread but I was confused that thread is related to withdraw T1 Ent and apply a fresh T2.
