Registering through British Mother

Post by USJenny » Sun Jun 03, 2018 6:11 pm

Hi. I live in the US and am planning to register as a British citizen born before 1983 to a British mother. I understand I have to submit my passport in the application. However, without my passport, I cannot travel to the UK to complete the citizenship process. Will I need to get a second US passport to get around this?

You don't need to travel to the UK to complete the process. Go to a US consulate for the oath.
