Change from 10 year to 5 year route

Post by Graham10 » Wed Jun 13, 2018 11:43 am

Dear All

I have completed my first 2.5 years of a 5 year route. I have made my application for the next 2.5 year segment. I meet all requirements, married to a British citizen, 3 British children, financially ok. Unfortunately I did not take the English language proof seriously. I did not get NARIC certification of my degree certificate. Instead I sent my diploma from a Bristol college stating that I was a qualified English language teacher. English is my mother tongue.

I have now received my new residence permit for 2.5 years and a letter stating that because I failed to provide evidence that I have achieved English to Level A1 I am now on a 10 year partner route.

My question is; is there anyway I can now do the NARIC certification of my degree certificate or do a language skills test and have my 10 year route changed back to the 5 year route? Can I simply write to Sheffield and ask or do I need to wait and apply for ILR at the end of 5 years?

Any help is appreciated.
