Child born in INDIA to BRITISH Mother

Post by Anup8788 » Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:30 am

Hello,

I'm reading alot of info but getting more confused.

I'm a British by Naturalisation, I got married in India and I've settled down there since 2004. I live in India with an OCI. I had my 1st child born in India in 2007 and another in 2014. I have traveled to UK multiple times with my kids, but each time we travel, I have to get Visa for them on their Indian Passports.

My Questions:
1. Are they able to get British Passport?
2. Which application form do I need to fill out? And where do I need to submit it? in UK or in India?
3. What is the fees for the application?
4. What documents needs to be provided?
5. How long does it take to process?
6. Are they able to come to UK on visit visa and apply for British passport? Whats the process for this?

Could someone PLEASE provide be some details in BASIC English so I don't get more confused :s any help with this will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you were naturalised before they were born, then
1. Yes.
2. British Passport.
3. - 5. See website.
6. Not if they are aware that the children are British.

Alternative: CoE-RoA in Indian passport.

Thanks Vinny for your answers :)

2. Which application form do I need to fill out? Is it MN1? or OS_Form_010 (https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/ove ... hild/india)

Thanks

You are applying for a passport, you use the passport form for overseas applications. You are not registering your child as British on MN1.

Char (CR001 not Casa)
