Maternity Leave on Tier-2 visa

Post by medici » Tue Jun 19, 2018 6:02 am

My wife is owning tier 2 general visa as the main applicant and is currently pregnant.
If she decides to go on maternity leave, kindly advice how long she can take maternity leave?

Following questions:

1) Do we need to inform the UK Home Office?
2) Can she travel to India during this period and how long can she stay in India?
3) I am holding dependent visa. Can I continue to work on this visa and can I travel out of the country?

She is allowed maternity leave. How long she gets depends on her employers policy.

Be aware that any absence of 180 days or more in any 12 month period will break her continuous residence and she won't be able to apply for ILR.

Thanks for the response.

Can I continue to work in UK while she is away from UK, so long the visa is valid?
