Scanned Copies of Stamped & Signed Bank Statements and Payslips - Acceptable Evidence?

Post by m-rob » Mon Jun 25, 2018 4:55 pm

Good afternoon all,

I have a question regarding bank statements and payslips as part of my wife's visa application.

My wife is currently in the process of gathering documents and completing her UK Family Visa (Spouse) in Indonesia. As her sponsor, I sent her my original signed and stamped bank statements and payslips as evidence of my employment and finances, but the post arrived 3 weeks later than expected. It is my understanding that financial documents are only good as evidence for 28 days from the date they were obtained, therefore they are no longer acceptable to use as evidence. I'm really not sure if I even had to send the originals in the first place, or if scanned colour copies would have been ok.

My question is this: would it be acceptable to obtain new copies of these documents, have them stamped and signed by the relevant people, then scan these and send the electronic copies for my wife to print out? Or are these documents only accepted as evidence if they are the originals, meaning I'd have to send them by post again?

This is my first post on the forum, so I am sorry if I'm posting a duplicate topic, but I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have.

-M

I think you did mistake by sending documents to your partner at abroad when these you should sent directly to Sheffield along with other necessary documents. These financial documents aren't needed during enrolling biometrics.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thanks for the advice, seagul. I wish I'd known I only needed to send them within the UK.

Do you know if I have to submit my documents separately from my wife's documents, or do we have to send both her additional evidence documents and my evidence documents to Sheffield together in the same letter?

Sorry if these questions are stupid, but the whole process is confusing both of us...

Based on member's horrible stories, never send your documents separately to HO because they don't assemble together the both packages rather may take decision from either of the bundle.
