I was not born in Ireland but my mother was. Therefore, I can get an Irish passport. I am going to fill out the online form for this purpose.

I notice that several times, it refers to "long form" documents. I imagine that these are either original documents (birth or marriage documents) or copies of the originals. My mother's original ("long form") birth certificate I don't have. But I know that by paying more, I can get a copy of that from Dublin.
I am confused about the civil marriage certificate they refer to. I am married. At one point it refers (apparently) to my having to supply an original copy of this. But on another occasion, it simply says that if I have changed my surname, which I have not, I need to supply this marriage certificate. Which is accurate?
Thanks.
