ILR Tier 2 applicant - Letter for work absences

Post by jamesjc » Mon Jul 02, 2018 4:15 pm

Hi,

I would really appreciate your advise on my ILR application.

I was granted my first Tier 2 in August 2013 and therefore I will soon complete my 5 year continuous period soon. I have an appointment in July (within 28 days of completing the continuous period).

Since my first Tier 2, I changed employers in 2015, and was granted a new Tier 2. This was all done whilst I was still in the UK with no breaks in between.

For my current IRL application I am being asked for a letter from my sponsor/employer detailing reasons for work-related absences including periods of paid annual leave from the UK.

My questions as follows:
- Do I also need to obtain a letter from my previous employer?
- What other documents do I need to obtain from my previous employer?

Thanks in advance!!
J

Yes, you need the absence letter from previous employer. Nothing else from them though.

Yes just a brief letter from former employer about absences.

If it helps, my former employer provided a letter with the folllowing (I actually compiled it and sent to my line mamager to check and sign):

- My name and passport number
- Table of absences (date left and returned to UK and brief explanation for absence)
- statement that absences have been verified as in line with annual leave or business trips.
- name of line manager, signature, date

Thank you! really appreciate the quick answer :o
I know you said that nothing else is needed from my previous employer, but just to double check, the SOC code and salary details/rate are only needed from my current employer - correct?
