License sponsor time frame and chances

Post by kosh_ki » Sun Jul 08, 2018 11:48 am

I'm on a student visa now expiring early October, and was promised by the start-up that I'm at now that they would be able to grant me a work visa before my current one expires. In the meantime I am remaining within the UK and working there.

Right now however they are not a licensed sponsor yet. I'm not sure what stage they are at in terms of becoming a licensed sponsor, but I'm aware that after being granted the right to be a license sponsor, they still need to issue a CoS and then I will then apply for the visa myself. How long should the whole thing take?

I'm also worried regarding the license sponsor status, because there's effectively no HR system here and what would happen if they were to come up and check out the place? Does it matter if it's essentially a group of students that came up with a start up?
