Standard visitor visa

Post by vrai » Fri Jul 06, 2018 6:52 pm

Dear Team,

My mother and father are planning to visit me in UK for 1 month.

I am in UK on Tier 2 General visa

Does my parents need to apply for Standard Visitor visa?

Do my father and mother need to do separate application?

Please advise documents they need to submit for visa application?

I would really appreciate your help regarding this.

Thanks.

Best Regards,
Rai

Thanks very much for reply.

On finances - My parents are showing their joint bank account statement of 6 months having balance of 3 lakhs INR - is this ok?

Also, my father can submit property in his name but this is not in my mother's name - is this ok?

Please advise

Best Regards

I have no idea what balances would be considered sufficient.

But I am sure property in one name should be fine.

Ok. Thanks for your reply.

Is it important to submit booked return flight tickets to prove they will go back to India?

Please advise.

That is an interesting question - they advice you not to book tickets until Visa is granted since there is no guarantee of the visa. But an itinerary at least should help

Standard visitor visa Application Form- Dependant section

Post by vrai » Sun Jul 08, 2018 3:51 pm

Dear Team,

My mother and father are coming together to visit me in UK.

I have query in the standard visitor application form - Dependant section

My father will submit bank statement which is joint account with my mother.
Also, my father will submit property in the name of my mother.

Does my father need to enter my Mother details in Dependant section? As my mother is having joint account with my father and has property in her name.

My mother will submit the standard visitor form separately. Does my mother need to fill my father details in 'dependant section'?

Please advise.

Best Regards,
Rai

Dear Team,

My parents have submitted now the standard visitor visa application.

Home office is asking evidence of their marriage.

My parents don't have marriage certificate.

So, what document they can submit?

Please advise at the earliest.

I would be very grateful.

Best Regards,
Vandita

That is a difficult one to answer. If they don't have the marriage certificate, use whatever is available. Point to the Mother's passport that often has the husband's name. There may be other legal documents where the relationship is seen. Some government documents such as Income tax returns, ration cards, etc.

If there is absolutely nothing, then maybe some kind of sworn affidavit in front of a magistrate/court, if that works.

Thanks a lot.

Yes my parents can get affidavit and get it notarised.

Also in their passport they have got spouse detials.

In the property document, bank statement, father's pension statement has the detials.

Do you think Home office will accept these supporting documents for marital status?

Impossible to predict what HO will do, but I think they will. I am sure they are aware about lack of some of these documents many years back.
