Arriving in to UK via bus, will this activate work visa?

I arrived a day early of my expected date and was told to leave the country and return!

I bought a round trip to France on a bus but I’m concerned that they don’t have the proper people to stamp it and activate it.

I can’t find any information on it and urgently need an answer.

Presumably you are coming through Calais?? If yes, then there is UK Border Control on the French side and they do check passports.

But will this activate my tier 5 work visa if they stamp it? When I asked border patrol on the way through they didn’t seem to have an answer

There is no 'electronic' activation process. You simply need an entry stamp on your visa vignette, which the border control at Calais should provide as they check non EU passports and British/EU passport holders.

As CR001 stated, make sure you fill out a landing card and that a UK Immigration Officer stamps your passport.
