Is annual holiday pay included in the income requirement?

Post by Lornar28 » Thu Jul 19, 2018 7:28 pm

Hello everybody
I am new here so bear with me!

Well I want to get my partner here on a fiance visa. I left the country we were living in to come home to the UK very rapidly, so we didn't have time to get married. I've just been employed on a 6 month contract with an agency (likely to be renewed at the end). My first question is whether immigration accept a temporary contract, or if it must be permanent/fixed?

Secondly, I don't quite reach the £18,600 unfortunately, however I love my new job and don't want to have to quit it! So...does anyone know whether annual holiday pay is included in the minimum income requirement? If so, I can reach it, but I can't find any information about this, it's all so vague isn't it!

any help or shared experience would be greatly appreciated

Thank you! Lorna

First of all the temporary contract won't be accepted so it is best you get it renewed to permanent. Secondly, if you don't reach the £18,600 and have been working for 6 months, are you not able to work overtime over the next month and possibly meet the criteria. If you have savings above £16,000 that have been in your possession for over 6 months then those can be counted towards the minimum requirement. You could tell us about your income so I can do the calculation for you.

Also the annual holiday pay, is this the pay you receiving as part of the job you currently doing for taking holidays? If so then that is part of your annual income as you would be receiving a payslip for it just like any other month or week.
