Income related questions for the spouse visa

Post by Linoh » Tue Jul 24, 2018 1:33 pm

Hi everyone,

I am planning to apply for the spouse visa the end of this month using premium service. There are few parts of the form that I am a bit confused and not sure how to answer. Hope someone can help me out :)

1/ My husband income alone will meet the financial requirement so do I need to also mention about my income from the part time job. Personally, I would like to include my income as well just so the combined income will look a bit better. However, I am currently here with my Tier 4 visa; hence, I can only work part time.
2/ When I filled the form, as my income is lower than the requirement so they ask me to provide the payslips within 12 months but I have been working there for only 8 months, would that be a problem? My wage has been increasing since I started; hence the amount in the payslips varies each time.So how should I calculate my annual income? Should I add up all of these 8 month wages as my annual income or should I combine what I have earned within 6 months and then divide as suggested in some posts?

Preferably only rely on your partner's income if it satisfactorily meet the financial requirement to keep the case straight. Make sure your partner attach the official version of required documents such as 6/12 months payslips, 6/12 bank statements and employer letter. And these shouldn't be older than 28 days of the date of application.

Thank you so much for the promt reply, Seagul :) I totally agree that only rely on my husband's income will be much more straightforward and simple.
I know I might just be a little overthinking but can I ask you one more thing, please? As my husband's monthy salary is £1,600 (shown on his payslips and bank statement), would it look bad to the case worker since after deduct the rent and all bills, there would not be much left for the maintenance. I stated that the rent + council tax bill should be around £1200 per month (I also said that we each pay half). In this case, should I still not include my income in the application?

In your case where financial requirement is met through employment then HO won't care about your outgoings.
