I have not completed my application yet so not sure what will happen once I complete it. But I believe that after completing the application you get the option to choose which service (premium etc) you want to go for. As far as I know premium service is still available and few members have booked it (including few LR applicants) unless something has recently (withtin 1/2 days) changed.

Lets see if anyone else can shed some light, who has recently completed and booked an appointment.

Hi all,

Let me just first state this all seems like a bit of a chaotic mess!

I am currently applying for my FLRM and have started my application under the new application form. I have a couple:
  • 1.) Is it true that I can't make an appointment until I submit, and once I submit...I can no longer make changes to the application?
2.) It says there will be limited appointments at the old Premium Centres after the 29th of November... is this for all FLRM applications? I'm not sure what 'they have no extant leave' means (my visa expires on the 16th).
3). The application seems slightly different than when I first completed it...are the documents required the same? Cover letter etc. All the guidance on the application is for the old form

For anyone on the new application path who has been waiting for the new enhanced service points to be available for booking from today, I just spoke to Sopra Steria and they said they are having IT issues and they should be available for booking by the end of the week... always something! Those points should be:
Gloucester
Dorchester
Llandudno
Bradley Stoke
Salisbury
Patchway
Swindon
Taunton
Truro
East Ham
Stratford (London)
Wimbledon
Shoe Lane (London)
Barbican (London)
Victoria (London)
Kensington (London)
Shepherds Bush (London)

As this is a new service, IT issues are unavoidable. I suggest to anyone who does not have an urgent application i.e can wait till new year,to hold from applying. This will give enough time to all centres and staff to be up to speed and iron out issues. Also while choosing the appointment centre choose one which is open for a while and not necessary the nearest one or the newest. Its our application and we need to protect it. the Home Office couldn't care less!

I think they have been already scheduled for opening from 19th November as per the announcement presentation in October.

If you read this topic through, some people reporting they got the decision after 24 hours but also some not, especially those got appoint on 13 Nov in Birmingham and there was a technical issue.

When did you book your appointment? Was it easy to book for an appointment within a week?

thanks.

I submitted my application and booked my appointment on 12/11/2018.

Yes, appointments were available from the very next day but at £100 for any slot of the week. Appointments beginning 19/11/2018 week were free of charge. I needed some days to collect my documents from the Bank. So i booked it on the 21st. I have uploaded all my documents on the Sopra Steria Website and just waiting to appear on the 21st. Im a bit nervous reading through some users saying they still haven't received their decisions even after a week. :(

I chose Birmingham only because it was a core centre where you would apparently expect things to go right. I live in London btw.

hi all,

I received the following email 2 days before my appointment from the UKVCAS service as i chose and paid for the £35 Document Checking service. Just posted it for your reference.

Dear Mr XXXXXXXX,

Thank you for uploading your supporting evidence to the UK Visas and Citizenship Application Service website. We have now completed the following checks of the files that were available as of 12/11/18

· Checked for the presence of all mandatory documents

· Checked that all documents are legible

· Checked that all documents been uploaded to the correct category

· Checked for any obvious missing pages

· Checked that all uploaded documents are in either English or Welsh language, or have an accompanying English or Welsh translation.

þ No action required: Following a review of supporting evidence available, we can confirm that:

o Mandatory documents are present in all required categories

o All documents are legible

o All documents have been uploaded to the correct category

o There are no obvious missing pages in any of the documents

o All documents are in either English or Welsh language, or are accompanied with an English or Welsh translation that obviously relates to the original

Please ensure that you have read and understood the full requirements for supporting evidence by referring to the applicable guidance notes available on GOV.UK.

If you are unable to correct any of the recommendations above, you have the option of bringing your paper supporting evidence with you to your appointment and one of our Service Agents will be able scan and upload this for you (charges may apply).

That is really helpful! Thanks! It is comforting to know that if one needs to add anything, it can be uploaded at the appointment.

I have some time to prepare but trying to be proactive! Did you find uploading was fairly easy?

Hi,
Just had a few queries-
Did you fill form Set (O)?
You submitted the application on 12/11, & took an appt on 21st/11. I read on the website somewhere that you should take an appt within 5 days after u submit your application & if not they will send you reminder after 15 days. Is there a deadline by when you have to take an appt after submitting?
How was the process of uploading the documents? Did they show a checklist of any mandatory documents which have to be submitted or any sort of checklist or do we have to submit the documents which we feel are necessary?
At the core centres, do we the option of 24hour decision? What facilities are there at the core centres, i just know you get free appt there, but wanted to know if they also provide the 24hour decision at the core centres & any other extra services.
Can you please send a link of the new application form that you submitted. Can we start the application in advance (say a month before the 28days period) & save it or is that option not there?
Any other detail would be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

It looks like that for Tier 2 (General) to ILR, all documents should be submitted to Mandatory documents category.

That is helpful! Can I confirm that the list of required documents or check list, is in the form itself? I see the instructions refer to Gov.uk guidance but I cannot find any for SET (M) . The links to eligibility, appointments etc apply to the old system, as if it still exists!

Hi aerobharath88, thank you so much for showing us screenshots of the application process, that is very helpful! Especially since many of us cannot start the process and upload until we pay ( I think that is correct??)
can I confirm that the document checking service will be done once your application is submitted, and if everything is OK then the applicant will receive an email? Or is that document checking service for the appointment itself, as in they will check at the center as well? How much extra was the service?
Thank you! 🙏🏽

hi Allyf,

for document checking services you will be asked to upload all documents 2 working days before the appointment. Once you do it, they go through and send you an email 2 days before the appointment too. Below is what is received on Monday.
