Given one Year Schengen Visa

Post by Tier 4 » Fri Jul 27, 2018 8:21 pm

Hi,

Just want to share my experience here. I am a British citizen and my Mrs is my dependent, she applied Schengen single entry visa to visit Netherlands with me for five days as a partner of EU citizen.

After three weeks she got her Schengen Type C Multi entry visa for a full year. WHAT A SURPRISE.

We never had an experience of applying such visa, just wondering has anyone faced the same situation or is it just the mistake of the Dutch embassy, or are we missing anything?

Thanks

She is a resident of an EU country (Britain).
Married to an EU citizen who can freely move.

No reason not to give long-term visa.

That's great! How many days can you travel within that 1 year period?

We applied 2 years ago and the Swiss Embassy granted my wife a 3-month multi-entry visa for 20 days usage within that period.

We've just applied to Norway for travel later this month, will report back on the visa length.
Fingers crossed its a 1-yr visa.

90 days within a 180 day period, not exceeding visa's validity.

If you travel together, you can stay as long as you want.
