Hi, can someone please help? 2 of my childhood best friends from Dubai plan to visit me in the UK for 1 week. They intend to stay with me and my husband in our rented house for the duration of their stay. Both my friends are employed in Dubai and have strong ties back home (job & family).
My husband and I have lived in the UK for 4 years and we both have residence permits in the UK as my husband is a European national exercising his treaty rights. We both are employed full time and we live in a 1 bedroom house.
I have written a letter for both my friends stating their relationship to me and how long I’ve known them. I have mentioned that I will be providing their accommodation, travel expenses (since we have a car) and food but they will pay for their own expenses such as shopping and other holiday expenses. I also included details of me and my husband and will send copies of our passport & residence permits plus a tenancy agreement and council tax bill. I also intend as part of their letter to include a daily itinerary for their stay which basically states where we plan to go (i.e. tourist sights) and a rough estimation of their costs per day.
These are my questions:
1. Is there anything else I need to provide to help support my 2 friends coming over?
2. If I say I’m providing them food too, do I need to provide copies of my bank statements?
3. Since my husband and I live in a 1 bedroom house, will this be a problem as we have 2 friends staying over? We have a sofa bed ready for their stay in our living room.
4. They intend to at least have £1500 in their bank accounts to show they have enough funds for their 1 week holiday in the UK. Is this a sufficient amount?
5. If having 2 friends in 1 bedroom house isn’t going to be sufficient, would it be better to book them into a hotel? And would they need to show more money than the £1500.
6. Last question, would a joint sponsorship between me and husband (i.e. signing the letter from both of us) be better or confusing to the caseworker?
Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.
