Please help!

Post by Newshsnik » Sat Aug 04, 2018 7:01 pm

Hi everyone.
So basically my mom got married to a British citizen and I was under 18 then and therefore, I was her dependent and we moved to the UK in April 2013.
After 2 years and a half, when the visa expired we applied for a Biometric Residence Permit. I was still my mom’s dependent for this application.
Finally, after another 2 years and a half our BRP card expired on 01/07/2018 and currently we have applied for an IRL. However, considering that I am over 18 now, we used two separate application forms for my mom and myself, therefore we applied individually.
So my issue is that I need to get my IRL before the start of this academic year to be able to get
student finance this year to attend Univeristy.
From the Gov.uk website I understand that there’s a service where you can pay £500 to get a faster decision on your application. But considering that my application depends on my mom’s and most of the important documents are on my mom’s application. Do you think it will be an issue to request a faster decision just on my application? And what is the process for it?
I appreciate all your help in advance.
Thank you

In this case, both you and your mum has to apply through premium service. As you are dependent of your mum, if she doesn't have ILR, you won't.

But are you sure you are the dependent of your mum, but not your step father?
