Long appointment dates

Post by Cymjay » Sun Aug 05, 2018 12:28 am

Hey all,

Need some help/advice. Finally got a CoS. NHS approved. Start date on the CoS is 20th August, have 28 days from then to start work.

Finally have all necessary documents and making application for visa on visa4uk.com and the nearest appointment date at our office is September 6th. Those timelines seem pretty tight.

Is there anything that can be done? Or should I just make the appointment and pay to secure that date? The nearest date after that one is September 17th.

I see most people on the dates thread submit their documents 2-3 days after the application date.

Edit. Start date is August 20th and have 28 days from this date to arrive in the UK on the Tier 2 visa.

Appointment for document submission and interview is Sept 6th.

Would the employer be able to alter the start date for the CoS? (NHS)

Your employer will not start you until you have got your visa sorted. The Start Date on the CoS is a reference date for the Home Office. They may grant your visa later than that date and your employer must be fine with it.
