Applied in 1st week of February for my 2nd child. Received original passport after 2 weeks. Have not yet received application number.
Got this email reply.
as a result of the current Government
Restrictions in place in relation to Covid-19, our office is not fully operational and staff are working remotely. This will lead to delays in the processing of applications.

Hi all
I am an irish citizen, my children not. As far as i am concerned they are able to acquire irish citizenship by me as a parent(irish citizen).
Do they need to reside in this state in order to be entitled for irish citizenship or outside of state they still can apply for it without residing in ireland?

Thanks

Not necessarily but it would make an application stronger if they were in Ireland.

Congratulations. When exactly did you apply for your daughter and when was it approved?
Hi, applied early August 2019 and got approved apparently in mid March 2020. Was in advance stage since December 2019 as far as I remember.
I applied straight away after I got my Naturalisation Certificate on 10th of December, 2019.
On 12th of January , 2020 I got daughter's passports back and Letter with Appl.Number.
And now middle of June and only silence, snce January ....
Finger crossed.🤞
Hopefully we are all will get Naturalisation Certificates for our children.
Good luck to all!!!

I sent them a mail a few days ago asking why I received the second letter, reference number and receipt for my application, but I didn't receive anything in respect of my children's application since we submitted our application at the same time and was received the same day. Here is their reply:

Thank you for your email. Please note that minor applications are dealt with in the different section then adult applications. Once the initial assessment of your children's applications has taken place you will receive
your application numbers and your receipts for your application fees. Your patience in this matter is appreciated.

Today received approval for my daughter!
Hi Larysa,
hope you are doing well. Did you receive the certificate yet?
Was wondering if they started issuing certificates since covid 19 situation and how long is taking now.

All the best

I received letter from Tipperary office to send them again my daughter's Birth Cert.
It is unbelievable!!!
Again need to send Birth Cert instead of Fee 200€ for Certificate of Naturalisation.
I think they knowingly delay the cases...
I do not understand why?
But it looks truly for me.
In December 2019, they asked me for additional letter from GP with all appointment's dates.
Then in March, 2020 I received just Formal information letter from them (Tipperary office) that your daughter's process of Naturalisation is running and just please be patient and wait for minister's decision.
And look guys now what they are doing...
Ask me for a True and sign Copy of Birth Cert which I did send them already in November 2019!!!!!!
Do not understand them at all.
And I tried to ring them.
There is no chance...
Nobody pick up the phone...
But the their phone land line is working constantly...

I applied On November, 2019.
And on 22nd of December, 2019 got passports back and letter with Ref.Number.
And then all steps happened which I described above.
Hope in September 🙏 they will send letter with fees 200 euros to pay for for Certificate and photos.
As was with me when I got my fees 950 euros for my Cert.
If be honest it is DoJ... Cause I am sure they are seeing in their DataBase in the computer that me and my wife are already became Irish citizens...
Only daughter (8 years) left.
By the way - fingers crossed 🤞.
Good luck to everyone who is the same as me or not.

Don't worry. They will soon send you fees 950 euros. Maybe another caseworker is treating your child's application due to COVID-19. Just exercise some patience ok. Goodluck.

I've been waiting the decision of the Minister since July 2018. I received the letter from Department of Justice that my child's application is being processed with a view to establishing whether your child meets the statutory conditions for the granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.
I don't know how long I have to wait until. Now My child he is over 18 and he is going to go to college . I may have to pay tuition fees as a non EEA student. It's very anxietieing to me. 😥😥😥😥😥
