Long Residence (10 years) Exceeding 540 Days

Post by AOTEJE » Sat Sep 08, 2018 5:50 pm

Hi I am going to apply for ILR base on long residency next year. Can someone help me with the following questions?

1. I exceed my days by 10 days in total (549 days out). Has anybody had a successful application exceeding the days?

2. I lost my old passport and I cannot calculate exactly the days I was out during my first 4 years. What can I do in this case?

3. How the days need to be counted: ie. travel on the 1st April come back on the 8th = 6 days in total?

4. In 2016 I was out of the UK for 44 days in a row, due to my father illness does that count as a compassionate circumstances?

THANKS A LOT

See Pages 10 & 11 of the Long Residence guidance for what a caseworker needs to take into account and prepare your application accordingly.

Flight tickets in emails or hard copies? If you remember where you went, you can contact the people that you stayed with to get the dates.

Only whole days outside the UK count as absence. The day of departure and arrival does not count.

THANKS A LOT
Quite apart from the all caps, which is deprecated on public forums in general, the particular phrase can be interpreted in a non-complimentary way. Better to say "Many thanks" than "Thanks a lot".
