Hi there,

I would like to apply standard visitor visa for my parents. They have been to the UK 4 times earlier with 6 months visitor visa each time. I would like to apply for 2 year standard visitor visa now instead of 6 months.
I understand that the maximum stay for one visit can not exceed 6 months.

That said, my questions are:

1. When I get 2 year standard visitor visa for my parents, is there a gap between visits? Say like, my parents visit me now and return by Dec 2018, when can they come back to the UK again? Do we need to wait for 6 months between each visit and they can only come back by July 2019?
2. Is there any restriction for number of visits in 2 years?

Your parents shouldn't spend more time in the UK in a 12 month rolling period than they are spending in their home country.

This means that they can't spend more than 6 months in the UK within the 12 months time.

Correct. Staying in excess of this is considered to be 'residing', not visiting.
