Hi, I’ve been worried about entre the UK boarder issue recently.
I am from Hong Kong and currently on Tier 4 visa which will be expired in end of Jan 2019. Hence, me and my bf booked a trip to Hong Kong for 3 weeks.
After that I planned to come back to the UK as a visitor as I knew entering with HK passport doesn’t need a visa and can stay in the UK for 6months max. At that point I didn’t think about I may be refused to entre the UK if I don’t have a good reason for a long stay.
Things I’m worried:
1) when I entre UK as a visitor, my occupation will be unemployed as I just graduate and I didnt plan to get a job until I finish this trip. This long stay in uk is kinda like a long break before I start my career in Hong Kong.
2) I return to the UK after 3 weeks I left, not sure will that make the officer feel I’m trying to stay here illegally? I am sure I will bring a return flight ticket with me.
3) I would like to stay for 5months (Feb-Jul) because my current accommodation contract won’t end until Aug. When I’m back as a visitor, I plan to ship all my stuffs from my uk accommodation back to hk. Also I want to being with my bf (British citizen) before we become a long distance relationship
So my questions here is, Wondering if my answer for “why I gonna visitor UK for 5months” will be ok?
1) I have planned travelling around the UK in this 5 months, including visiting my old coursemate in different cities and see my boyfriend regularly before we become in a long distance relationship.
2) I will take part in my dance school annual show in May. I used to do that and it will be my last time before I stay in Hong Kong for years. Then, I will attend my friend’s graduation ceremony in Jul.
Along with this 2 reasons, I will bring my proof of accommodation contract, bank statement, return flight ticket to HK, a draft of my planned trip(e.g. some train tickets I booked). When I entre into the UK border, I will go with my boyfriend (FYI: we are together for 3 years).
So anything more I should prepare to make sure they will allow me to stay as a visitor for that long?
Thank you for reading my post.
