Tier 2 General - Dependant Visa Application - Problem with Immigration to countries other than UK Question

Hi Moderator/All, I am applying as a Tier 2 Dependant under Tier 2 General category.

There is a question in the application -

Problem with Immigration to countries other than UK :
Have you ever been :
1, refused a visa for any other country other than the UK.
2.other options.

I had a H1B visa refusal in Jan 2001, 17 years ago. Should i mention this in the application.

Appreciate a correct guidance by anyone who had a similar scenario. Please help.

IIRC that question says "refused a visa in the last 10 years...".

So you don't have to mention your refusal as it was more than 10 years ago

Hi, thanks for your prompt response. There is no such guidance on the Application form. So i am not sure. Is there any UK HMRC guidance link that can help me please. Also, what is IIRC. Sorry.

required to leave any country other than the UK
refused entry at the border of any country other than the UK

Give details of any time you were refused a visa or had to leave a country (other than the UK) for any reason.

IIRC means "If I recall correctly"

The question I referred to exists on the visa4u dependent application form.

If they don't have a qualifier of 10 years, then you should declare the refusal and explain the cirumstances of the refusal. I don't think it would be an issue since it was 18 years ago
