As far as I can see, biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are not done at the Settlement Checking Service.

What 'proof' exactly have you sent back??? When you get a letter from HO to do biometrics (fingerprints and photo), you have to take the HO letter with you to the Post Office to do it as this has a barcode related directly to your application. There is NO requirement to send 'proof' to HO as the Post Office uploads the data digitally to HO directly.

I sent back a part of the form that needed a signature along with my receipt from the post office .I realize that the receipt was probably not needed but sent it Any way.
I fingerprints ect biometircs were taken at a premium centre last time. This is why we thought I need not do it again.

What 'part of the form' are you referring to??? There is nothing that has to be sent or completed once you have enrolled your biomertrics at the Post Office.

You are required to enroll biometrics for every application you make. You will need to do it again when and if you apply for citizenship.
