Online application for non-EEA family members of EEA nationals

Hello guys,

Can you please update what happened with you as i have currently the same situation, my girlfriend is an EEA citizen and i am not. Also since you were both married is it different we are not married but in a lasting relationship?

Both EU and non-EU nationals can apply using the online form, provided the non-EU national is included as part of the application of the EU national. If the non-Eu national is applying on their own, then they need to use the paper form.

It seems the Residence Card is gone now (not listed anymore, anywhere) and that the only document possible for EU nationals and their non-EU family members, between now and the launch of Settled and Pre-settled Status, is now only the Registration Certificate. For both EU and non-EU. This is new.

I am really not sure about the meaning of the Registration Certificate for non-EU. Never heard of it. As long as I understood it, non-Eu nationals need a biometric Residence Card. Can anyone else confirm how this all fits together?

Registration Certificate is for *EEA citizens* who have been here less than 5 years - they apply for RC while they wait for the 5 years and gather evidence for EEA (PR) or other ILR. RC would be the equivalent of Pre-Settled Status.

Residence card is for *non-EEA citizens* who have been here less than 5 years.

That's what I always understood. Then I got confused by the wording on the page titled Registration Certificate, which includes Extended Family Members as categories to apply.
