Non-married partner visa- lack of enough evidence-

Post by it91 » Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:33 pm

Hi,
I have been living with my non-EEA partner for 2 years, in a relationship akin to marriage, and want to apply to unmarried partner visa for her. As far as I know we are supposed to provide loads of evidence about living together (residence docs, utility bills, bank statements etc). When we became aware of this partner visa scheme, she got joined to the house contract (Effective from march this year), and electricity and gas (starting from this month). We also have a joint bank account from july this year.

However the only proof she has is the bank statements covering continuous 2 yrs period of residence in our home. Apart from it she doesn't have any other proof, bills etc. We have photographs, whatsapp talks, travel tickets, and statement from our previous flatmates as proof. But I am wondering any of them are valid evidence? Or can she still apply?

Are there anyone in a similar situation?

Any experience and opinion will be greatly appreciated. :)

edit: he has loads of proofs that he's been living in the house (council tax, bank statement, house contract etc). Is it helpful? As he has been the one paying for all these bills officially.

Any ideas?
Will be having only bank statement from Non-EEA’s side is enough? EAA has loads of bills on the name as a support though.
Thanks!

Are the bank statements in joint names? The Case Worker will want to see shared financial commitments, both names on the tenancy etc. You need to show that you are in a durable relationship 'akin to marriage and more than boyfriend/girlfriend or flatmates.

We started to have our joint bank statement from this july onwards. By the time I will apply to this visa we will have it for 6 months. What do you think, will it help?

This will only provide evidence of co-habitation since July 2018. You need to submit proof for the full 24 month period.
