Non EU family member rights with settled stauts

Post by hanihani » Tue Apr 16, 2019 12:32 pm

Hello

Does anyone know yet what are the actual rights for non EU family member who secured settled status?

I understand we can assume that it is the same as PR but no official announcement yet

with PR you don't have to relay on your eu partner exercising treaty rights, and or if marriage breaks down

What happens if EU partner stopped working or marriage broke down with settled status?

I’ve enquired by phone from Eu Settle status team . They told me once you have settled status, you are fre from immigration or any other restriction. It won’t make any difference if your sponsor working or not

but they say there is only one difference between settled and pre-settled stats which is you can stay outside from UK 2 years with pre-settled status and 5 years with settled status. if the settled status is free from immigration than pre-settled has the same right according to them.
