Dear All,
I am on a tier 2 General visa and have recently completed my 3 years and successfully got extension for next 3 years for me, my wife and a 1.5 year old son.
From the time I was married and brought the wife here, I started to struggle with debt. I have been using credit cards and now the debt has reached to £16k.
I am thinking of Minimal Asset Process in Scotland (MAp) which will make me debt free in 6 months.
I have done alot of research and talked to the debt helpline and read through debt articles on gov websites but no one has a straight away answer.
My question is, if I go bankrupt, will it have any effect on ILR which still have 2 years left and by that time i'll be out of bankrupt. I know it stays on credit file for 6 years. But does it affect?
In some places, it says if you are discharged from bankruptcy then they don't consider it, Some solicitors are suggesting not to even declare this while ILR application.
Also, does it affect citizenship later if granted ILR?
Many Thanks
