Hi all.
I have read through other topics but haven't seen anything specific to council housing.
My husband and I are applying for his IRL on the 5 year route. On his two previous spouse visas, we were privately renting and could provide all the accommodation documents issue free.
We moved in with my parents last year, who are letting us stay with them until we can raise a deposit to buy a house. We live rent-free. My parents rent from the council. I can provide a letter from them stating they are giving permission for us to stay there, as well as bills in their name and the tenancy agreement with the council. The issue is with the following statements:
"Proof of property ownership from the owner of the property you live in, such as a mortgage statement
Copy of an ID document of the owner of the property you live in, such as a passport
Letter signed by the owner of the property you live in stating that you have permission to live there"
The owner of the property is the council. Do we need to provide these documents despite the fact that we do not pay rent or bills? I am wary that contacting them might suggest that my husband is accessing public funds or my parent's entitlement to council housing. I am trying to avoid an appointment with an immigration advisor when all I need is some simple advice if the documents I can provide from my parents are suffiecient.
Thank you in advance.
