Tier 2 to Global Talent Visa

Hi,

I am currently in the UK on a 3-year Tier 2 visa which expires in Oct 2023. My dependents' visas expire at the same time. I have the following questions:

1. If I want my new visa to start AFTER my current Tier 2 visa expires, when should I and my dependents apply to switch to GTV?

2. What is the most cost-efficient duration of GTV that I should apply for so that I can get ILR soon after my GTV and my family can get their ILR in Oct 2025?
