Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Post by csc1987 » Fri Jun 30, 2023 8:06 am

Hello,

My wife went to a citizenship ceremony on 19th June and I'm just wondering what the timeframe for receiving the naturalisation certificate is likely to be. Has anyone received theirs yet from the June ceremonies? For anyone who attended ceromonies in March, what was the typical timeframe?

We're planning to travel abroad in September so I'm trying to figure out if we should bet on getting her new passport by then or just apply for a visa to the country we're going to.

Thanks for any feedback anyone can offer on this question

Well, they said a couple weeks, but they said that last time around and it was actually more like 5 weeks according to people here.

That's good to know - when was your ceremony if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats!

My ceremony was on June 20th and still haven't received the certificate yet. I was wondering the same about whether there would be enough time before a holiday we booked for October between the cert and the passport application.

If I remember correctly, you're a refugee (so you have no other travel document)? I would certainly advise to take precautions and not get any holidays booked before passport is in hand. Better safe than sorry, knowing ISD/DFA.

To be fair an Irish person (which you are now!) would be hassling their TD to get on this. Denying citizens their rights because the immigration department is incompetent is unacceptable.

I've also attended 20th of June ceremony and still anxiously waiting on my certificate, but as a civil servant myself I can assure you the delay has got nothing to do with the department being run by incompetents. It's holiday season and all offices across the country are operating at reduced capacity atm.

What's important to remember is that the worst is over and by next week or so we will all have our certificates! It'd be great if we could keep each other looped when they start to send them out though.

I have attented ceremony at 20th June.
I have send an email nearly everyday last 2 weeks.
There is no even 1 answer for certificate.

Its like a unfinished punishment.
I was very happy for approval but now its like a nothing. I dont want to talk in a bad way but its a life sentence.

You dont know what u r waiting and how long but you are waiting. Unbelievable.. now you can see why the young Irish people dont stay here.

I have also send an email to Minister.. her secretary replied me and said contact to citizenship department..😀😀😀😀😀😀

The worst part is you dont know how long you will wait.. perfect job 👏 perfect

Unnecessary blaming and moaning never helps. Ireland have granted you Citizenship and it's a life sentence and punishment? Why don't you please renounce it and will be free to walk on earth.

I meant / blamed / talked / wrote / complained ( i couldnt login with other account) about waiting time and getting no info but if you want to understand from my complaint getting citizenship is a punishment all up to you mate . check your brain or not. So ⬇️

THERE IS NO EVEN SMALL INFO. SO IF YOU DONT MIND CAN I COMPLAIN AND TALK ABOUT IT?

Thank you..
