1 less prsi contribution to qualify for jobseeker benefits

Post by Rubster » Thu Apr 04, 2024 8:22 pm

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone is in the same situation as me. I worked exactly 2 years at a company which equates to 104 weeks. It was a fixed term contract so I involuntarily left the company. As such I applied for jobseekers on the basis that I should have the minimum 104 prsi for the 104 weeks I was with the company. Unfortunately I was rejected because on record I only received 103 prsi which is one less.

Has anyone experienced this. It’s just so cruel. In the first year I worked say 28 weeks and 4 days but unfortunately my contribution was rounded down instead of up so that’s how I lost one contribution. Unfortunately according to my old company because I got paid monthly that’s how it’s calculated. So devastated.. because of this I don’t get any benefits.
