Question about continuous residence

Post by nwrmrc » Mon Apr 22, 2024 5:25 pm

Hello,

Currently on the 10 year route for ILR, due to be met by 2025. During my last extension, I initially made an application for fee waiver, while this was ongoing there was a family emergency and I had to get a loan to apply for fast track service. I made the second application before my fee waiver decision. When I made the application it was technically after my stay expired (however I had an ongoing application). I heard the home office can argue that my continuous residence was broken as my second application was made before a decision was made on my initial application.

Is there any truth to this and does anyone have any experience with something similar?

Thank you, very useful read. I believe it’s slightly different as the applicant there made an application for a different visa as opposed to my case where it was an application for the same visa as the ongoing fee waiver application.
