Work visa - eu settlement scheme

Hi, my friend came in the uk on work visa, he is working for the same company and the visa was valid for 3 years, after six month living and working In the U.K. he applied for eu settlement scheme, when seeing the status online he only can see certificate of application but nothing about work visa and his residence card has expired on 31/12/24 like everyone if he cancels his eu settlement scheme application, would his work visa still be active,

Any advice will be really appreciated.

On what basis did your friend apply for the EU Settled Status scheme? Are they an EEA citizen who moved to the UK before 31st December 2020? Or did they marry such an EEA citizen before that date?

It was regarding extended family member, the route is closed, on online status it’s only shows their certificate of application, ( they came on three year work visa, and still employed by the same employer and working full time for them )
