HSMP Dependent Visa Query

Hello All,
I am currently in UK under HSMP Visa (Old scheme - upto apr2010). I am planning to file dependent visa for my wife.

She is currently in US under L1 Visa from last year (from Jan 2008). She had another 3 months to go for completing the current project.

I want to know if she can file the dependent Visa from US directly? Or does she had to come back to India and file?

Please let me know on this, I tried contacting VFS but havent got answer to this query.
