UK Dependent Visa - Query - Please help

Hi All,

My Wife has a Tier 1 general Migrant Visa and is currently employed in the UK.

I am in the UK currently but on a business visa on project for my company in India.

A few questions that I needed answers to for me to apply my dependent visa:

1. For accommodation proof: As I am usually on business visa, my company provides me with accommodation. So I don't have a flat on rent. Will hotel booking work for me for accommodation proof.

2. Can I apply for a dependent visa when in UK or do I need to apply from India (I am a Indian citizen). (I would be in UK on a business visa)

3. I have a job with an Indian company who pays me salary in India and accommodation and daily allowance in UK (when I am in the UK working for the UK parent). We have limited knowledge on how this will work if I go to UK on a dependent visa. Can anybody help here. My concerns are i. can I still work for my Indian company and earn Indian salary when I am a dependent in UK. ii. Will my company have any problem with paying me daily allowance. (they are ready to, but we dont understand the tax implication).

Further wanted to understand:
- Would anybody know if it is legal to work for an Indian company in India earning Indian salary but staying in UK on a dependent visa?

I personally don't see that as a challenge as a dependent could be a freelancer for e.g. n work across the globe. the only reason he/she is coming to the uk is to support his/her spouse and stay together...
ur suggestion on this would be very helpful..

Also, I have done a lot of research on accommodation proof: Could not find any statement within the form or any other guidance from UKBA or VFS or any other regulatory body on type of accommodation required. They don't mention you have to show accommodation proof anywhere accept for showing all supporting documents of details you mention in the form which includes your accommodation in UK. The point is a hotel should work fine. I don't understand what is wrong in staying in a hotel and showing it as accommodation proof (I don't intend to rent a place in the UK - either stay in hotels or stay with company provided acco).

I would request a few members to contribute on if their tier 1 general migrant dependent visa was rejected due to showing either no acco proof or showing hotel booking as acco proof.

I would also request members whose dependent visa was approved by either showing no acco proof or showing hotel booking as acco proof.

P.S. I have read some threads here and understand members feel strongly about a rented place and I understand it is ideal to have. But would really appreciate if ppl could come up with evidence of hotels working / not working in the past.
