I have currently just completed 2 years of my HSMP visa and was due for an extension. However the HSMP extension application was refused. I went for an appeal and had the hearing just recently.
However after the hearing, the appeal was refused once again. The main reason for the refusal was due to a clerical error in my overseas bank statement which I had shown in support for my maintenance fund. The a/c opening date should have been 01/01/09 but was instead wrongly entered as 12/10/09 by the bank clerk. I was under the limit for the apr-may 09 period btw. It was just because of this mistake the appeal was refused.
I would like to make a reconsideration of the appeal on the basis that the bank was at mistake. I have spoken to the bank and they have offered to write an apology letter together with a new rectified bank statement. Now I understand that no new evidences can be presented for a reconsideration of an appeal.
I would be very grateful if you could provide some insight into whether I have a strong case for reconsideration of the appeal and the likely hood that it would be successful. I am open to any other alternative options or advice. Please help............................. thank you in advance
