Hi Figsey,

I hope this will be +ve. Good luck.

Please could you share which documents did you send along with your application as a spouse.

I dont have a UK passport yet and before applying for my passport I want to apply for my wife's citizenship application.

I am planning to send the following documents.

1. Marriage Certificate
2. My Naturalisation Certificate
3. Her Passports
4. Life in the UK Test Certificate.

Any thoughts from anyone.

Cheers

Hi melo75
We completed dobs for parents, left their date of marriage blank and left grandparents details blank. The post officer clerk checking the form asked him about his grandparents and I believe they filled the form in "grandparents details not known".
Thank you Jules. I submitted my application today using check & send. The interesting thing is the lady at the C&S said sometimes they do not require you to attend an interview if they are satisfied with your identity and you will just receive your passport. I very much doubt that though, as on the IPS website it clearly states everyone applying for his first adult passport needs to attend an interview.

Good luck to your husband and all of us waiting!

Hi Jules,
Which documents did you send with the application.
Regards.[/quote]

Naturalisation certificate and his moroccan passport. They were both returned by secure post on Friday 13th August (exactly 1 week after submitting) and he received a separate letter on the same day inviting him for interview.

Hi melo75. Good luck to you too. Hope you hear something soon.

Like you, I doubt if you'll get away with an interview. I thought interviews were compulsory for all appliants over 16 applying for their first passport, regardless of their nationality.

Sorry the question was not clear from my initail post.

Which documents did you send for Naturalisation? Not for the passport.

Thanks.

For naturalisation we took my british passport, my husband's moroccan passport, his life in the UK test certificate and our marriage certificate. Used NCS so these were copied and returned to us.

Does anyone know when I can start calling IPS to check for updates?

I applied through check & send on Friday 13th Aug. And I am trying to book the interview without having to wait for the letter from IPS.

Hay Hay My Brother Congartulations once again so happy for you, just an update as i promised, i called them on monday the 16th to book the ceremony in (Manchester) and found the earliest date on 15th of september so i asked for the private one and guess what?? the call was at 12 o'clock exactly, he asked me if i like to take the 2:30 one!!!, which was in only tow hours and half from the time i called!! so ofcourse i did not say no for that great offer and left the job at once, went home got dressed up and even managed to invite my cousin with his GF, there it was
by the way the fee for the private ceremony was only £100 , not £115..
anyway i couldn't fill the passport application that day coz i did not find the person who needed to sign my application with the photo, so i sent it yesterday the 17th wich make it same day as yours :D
lets see who gets it first LOL
you take care and please keep in touch
thanks very much to this great website it's really usefull

What number to call to know the status of application?

Post by nitas » Wed Aug 18, 2010 2:24 pm

I have made an application via NCS Leeds on 20th July and would like to know the status of my application.

I tried calling the number on the acknowledgement letter (08450105200) but get an automated response saying that they cannot provide status and I should call only if my application has been pending for more than 6 months.

Does anyone know what number I can call to find out about the status of my application?

Once you get to the number, try option 2, 2, then you'd be sent to customer centre Q
