Dear All,
I came to UK in May-2007 on WP and got one extension till Dec 2010. In Dec 2010 I got Tier-2 ICT under transitional arrangements thru my employer. I am planning to apply for ILR in May 2012 when i complete 5 years. The new rule this year says, anyone who has got Tier 2 ICT for the first time after April 2010 is not eligible for settlement. I am not sure if this would be applicable to me, since i came into UK initially on Work Permit in 2007 and have stayed with the same Employer all the while. below are my visa and its extension details.
May-2007 to Decl-2008 Initial WP
Dec-2008 to Dec-2010 WP Extension
Dec-2010 to Dec-2013 Tier 2 ICT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is what the rule says
The 5-year continuous period must include time spent as:
a Tier 2 (Intra company transfer) migrant under the Immigration Rules in place before 6 April 2010; or
a qualifying work permit holder, provided that the work permit was granted because you were the subject of an intra-company transfer.
Kindly let me know your inputs please
