Divorce while appeal is pending eea4

Appeal against a refusal for eea4 is ongoing but regretably things are not going fine at home wife has initiated divorce. My problem now is should I reapply for eea2 or let the divorce go on and thereafter apply for eea4 under retaintion of residence rights.
Immigration history
both of us has 6 years work history in the uk, but my eea4 spouse is being querried 05/06 unemployment period for vocational studies hence my initial eea4 refusal, but did not want to go ahead anylonger with the appeal seeing the situation at home.
Thinking of the consequencies of the divorce at the moment, do I stand any chance of retaining my PR without my eea spouse after divorce, or is there any risk going ahead with the divorce or not.
